Woodfordia, based on Jinibara land in the Sunshine Coast, creates two of the best and most unique festivals in Australia; Woodford Folk Festival and its little sister The Planting. For three years we had the pleasure of designing streets, bars & venues, and running the amazing art and décor crews, to bring these gorgeous events to life.
Each year brought new creations and a host of craftspeople people to transform Woodfordia into a village that during Woodford Folk Festival hosts over 25,000 daily patrons, performers, stallholders, volunteers and organisers and becomes the 67th largest town in the country.
Festival avenues are lined with restaurants, cafes, stalls, bars, street theatre and parades. Lanterns led to tree-filled campgrounds, butterfly walks, water features and wildlife complete the picturesque site. Our job was to enhance the patron experience with unique and handcrafted infrastructure and décor in bars & venues and light the streets with colour and vibrancy. In the case of these festivals, it really does take a community to created absolute magic and we were honoured to be involved.
